Head of R&D

We are an early-stage startup in the AI Security domain, looking for a visionary, hands-on Head of R&D to join our founding leadership team. This is a "day zero" opportunity to shape our technological DNA, build a world-class engineering culture from scratch, and lead the development of a category-defining product.

The Role

As our Head of R&D, you will be the architectural mind and the leadership heart of our company. You will:

• Build from the ground up: Recruit, mentor, and lead a multi-disciplinary team of Top-Tier Software Engineers, AI Researchers, and DevOps specialists.
• Set the Tech Strategy: Own the technical roadmap and architecture, making critical decisions on the stack, scalability, and security.
• Execute & Deliver: Bridge the gap between complex AI research and robust, scalable production-grade software.
• Foster Culture: Establish a high-velocity, high-quality engineering culture rooted in innovation and ownership.

Who You Are

• A Seasoned Leader: You have substantial experience in senior R&D management (VP R&D / Director level) specifically within the startup ecosystem.
• Team Builder: You have a proven track record of hiring "A-players" and scaling engineering organizations from the first few hires to high-performing teams.
• Tech Guru: You are still a technologist at heart. You have a deep understanding of complex systems, and while you lead, you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.
• Domain Expertise: Experience in Cybersecurity is a significant advantage. Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and their unique security challenges is a huge plus.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: You have a "passion for the build." You thrive in ambiguity and are excited by the challenge of turning a vision into a massive-scale reality.
