Backend Team Lead

As Backend Team Lead, you will own the technical delivery of our backend systems — from sprint planning and hands-on code to mentoring developers and collaborating with architects. You will bridge the gap between strategic product goals and day-to-day engineering execution, ensuring quality, velocity, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Core Engineering

• 7+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, Kubernetes.
• Deep expertise with PHP frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel or similar (Java + Spring Boot).
• Strong proficiency with relational databases — PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• OOP, SOLID, KISS, and DRY principles. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code following.
• Claude Code, AI agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and code assistants. Hands-on experience with modern AI development tools — preferably.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Leadership & Delivery

• 3+ years in an engineering management or team lead role
• Proven experience managing development across multiple systems, interfaces, and integrations simultaneously.
• Strong Agile/Scrum expertise — including leading sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives, and cross-team delivery in fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage parallel workstreams, and ensure high-quality execution.
• Track record of accurate effort estimation, early blocker detection, and proactive risk management.
