Head of Engineering / Senior Team Lead

One of our clients, a profitable and bootstrapped technology company, is looking to hire an Senior Engineering Team Lead to own a core internal platform that supports real-time decision-making and campaign optimization (manage 7-9 SW engineers)

The company develops and scales digital products in the Health and Wellness space, with a strong focus on data-driven performance and the US market. The company combines the stability of an established business with the agility and pace of a startup, and its engineering team plays a key role in building systems that directly influence business results.

In this role, you will take ownership of a mission-critical internal platform responsible for processing large-scale data in real time. This is a highly impactful opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys combining hands-on engineering, system design, and people leadership.

You will lead a team of engineers, guide architectural decisions, and help evolve the platform toward more autonomous decision-making capabilities, with future potential to expand leadership scope across multiple teams.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers while remaining hands-on when needed
• Own architecture, scalability, and system design decisions for a complex internal platform
• Drive the development of distributed microservices-based systems
• Work on high-scale, real-time, data-intensive infrastructure
• Partner closely with product, business, and leadership stakeholders
• Translate business needs into technical priorities and practical solutions
• Support the continued evolution of the platform toward more autonomous capabilities

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a Team Lead or in a similar technical leadership role
• Strong experience building and scaling complex systems
• Proven expertise in system architecture and design
• Hands-on experience with Python or Node.js, React, AWS, and NoSQL databases
• Experience working with high-scale, data-intensive, real-time systems
• Strong coding and computer science fundamentals
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is an advantage

Nice to have:

• Experience in digital marketing, ad-tech, or online performance environments
• Strong business orientation and ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders
