About Us

We're 5 people who got a little excited with a problem most people just accept as normal.

It started with conversations. A lot of them. Finance managers, accountants, CFOs, people running the numbers for companies that are growing and somehow still doing half their work manually. They have every tool. And yet, every month, the same pile of work is sitting there waiting for them to deal with it.

At some point we stopped asking why the tools weren't solving it and started asking whether the tools ever could. That question took us somewhere unexpected.



We built Edith. Edith is a finance employee. One that actually owns the work, end to end, the way a person would. And before we even launched her to the world, 700 companies had already joined our waitlist to meet her.

That's the company we're building. Five people, a clear thesis, real traction, and a long way to go. We're looking for the person who builds the technical foundation of all of it — and does it as a co-founder, not a contractor.

Role Description

We are looking for a Co-Founder & CTO to own the technical architecture and lead engineering execution. Early on, this is a hands-on builder role. As we scale, it evolves into technical leadership and team expansion.

You will:

• Own the end-to-end architecture of a classical AI system built for finance
• Build and extend our OWL2 ontology layer representing financial knowledge and rules
• Design constraint satisfaction models that resolve transactions across a combinatorial possibility space
• Implement classical NLP pipelines for document parsing, entity recognition, and structured extraction (no LLMs or agents dependency)
• Integrate with accounting systems, banking APIs, and ERP infrastructure
• Own system reliability, security, and closed-system integrity end-to-end
• Work directly with our Chief Architecture Officer on ontological design decisions

You should expect to build most of this yourself early on.

Qualifications

• PhD in AI, symbolic systems, knowledge representation, or formal reasoning is highly preferred (equivalent hands-on depth will be considered).
• Strong background in constraint satisfaction, combinatorial optimization, or classical AI methods
• Able to make the case against LLMs in structured domains from first principles — this matters to us.
• Can ship a working product end-to-end — backend, APIs, and enough frontend to put something real in front of users
• Experience shipping production systems, not just research prototypes
• High ownership, execution-first mindset
• Experience with accounting systems or financial infrastructure is a strong plus
