Senior Software Engineer Team Lead

We are a fast-growing, silicon valley early stage company founded by a winner of the Mathematics Shaw Prize, often called the “Nobel for Math”, and by a Computer Science professor at Hebrew University. Our technology is foundational, not incremental, and was developed over a decade of research. Our leadership team includes company builders and tech entrepreneurs, as well as engineering, product and sales experts. Factify has raised a very significant seed round. The investors backing us are seasoned company builders, visionaries and engineers who have built world-famous tech teams and hold key tech, business and academia leadership positions.

We’re looking for a Backend Team Lead to lead and scale our backend engineering team. This is a pivotal leadership role in which you’ll guide a high-caliber team of 5 engineers (and growing fast!) in building the foundation of a platform that will redefine the future of enterprise documents.

We’re looking for someone who’s not only a strong leader but also a passionate technologist, someone who thrives on staying hands-on, writing code, and solving complex technical challenges while mentoring and enabling others.

You will…

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, expected to scale significantly in the next 6–18 months
• Own the design and development of production-grade APIs and infrastructure powering our document platform
• Architect and implement scalable microservices in Go
• Drive the development of advanced document processing and AI infrastructure (including model serving and data pipelines)
• Ensure high system reliability, observability, and performance at scale
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, and AI teams

Requirments:

• 8+ years of backend development experience, with 3+ years in Go (hands-on experience is a must)
• 3+ years of experience in leading or managing engineering teams
• A strong track record of delivering high-scale distributed systems and production-grade APIs (REST/gRPC)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Redis, etc.)
• Passion for mentorship, teamwork, and staying close to the code
• Excellent communication skills and a bias toward ownership and execution
