Eyeviation is seeking a Technical Lead who thrives in the early “zero-to-one” stage of building a product. This is a foundational role for an experienced engineer who combines deep technical expertise with a builder’s mindset.

You will lead the transition of our VR-based platform from R&D to production, define the system architecture, and help build the engineering team from the ground up. Working closely with product leadership and early enterprise customers, you will ensure that our technology evolves in the right direction while supporting scalable, real-world deployments.

You will play a key role in shaping the platform, engineering culture, and architecture that will support our first enterprise deployments. Your decisions will influence how the system scales, how engineering teams collaborate, and how our technology integrates with real-world customer environments.

• You will help Define and establish engineering processes, development standards, and technical priorities as the platform evolves from early-stage R&D to production-ready systems.
• Own the technical architecture and long-term engineering direction of a multi-disciplinary platform spanning VR applications, backend services, and web technologies. 
• Engage with early customers to understand real-world challenges and ensure that platform architecture, APIs, and SDKs are designed to support scalable integrations.
• You will Oversee development, deployment, and LiveOps processes to ensure production stability, monitoring, and rapid deployment cycles.
• Help Recruit, mentor, and guide a multi-disciplinary engineering team (Unity3D, Web, DevOps), providing technical leadership and aligning engineering efforts with product goals.
• Remain actively involved in the codebase when needed, helping solve complex technical challenges, integrations, and cross-system dependencies.

Backend Services: Python (FastAPI)

Web Applications: Node.js / Next.js

Cloud Infrastructure: AWS

Data Pipelines: AWS-based data and processing infrastructure

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including technical leadership roles

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

• Strong background in software architecture and system design

• Experience building SDKs and supporting complex external integrations

• Ability to translate product and customer needs into scalable technical solutions

• Experience working across multiple engineering domains (backend, web, real-time systems, or similar)

• Hands-on mindset and willingness to actively contribute to development when needed

• Experience developing VR-based systems or real-time interactive platforms

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams

• Experience building complex platforms with multiple integrated components

• Background in the defense or simulation industry
