Senior Data Engineer (Defense)

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of advanced data infrastructure and enable critical data-driven capabilities across the organization.

This role focuses on building and optimizing data platforms that integrate diverse data sources — including structured and unstructured data — from operational systems, IoT devices, intelligence sources, and external systems, all within secure and high-availability environments.

You will play a key role in transforming raw data into reliable, accessible, and scalable data assets that support analytics, AI, operational systems, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: Design and lead complex data architectures within secure environments.
• Pipeline Development: Build and maintain Data Pipelines for processing both structured and unstructured data (Text, Video, Images, Logs, Signals).
• Data Integration: Orchestrate and integrate a wide range of heterogeneous data sources.
• Storage Strategy: Build and manage Data Lake / Lakehouse / Data Warehouse infrastructures.
• Real-Time Processing: Work with streaming data in Real-Time / Near Real-Time.
• Quality & Governance: Ensure data quality, consistency, Traceability, integrity, and reliability.
• Performance Engineering: Optimize for high performance, high volumes (Vast Scales), and High Availability.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Algorithm, AI, Intelligence, Product, and Development teams.
• Technical Excellence: Provide technological leadership, establishing standards and Best Practices.
• Security & Compliance: Operate in strict accordance with information security protocols, permissions, and classification levels.

Requirements (Must-Have)

• Experience: 6+ years as a Data Engineer, with proven experience in complex or mission-critical environments.
• Data Proficiency: Proven experience working with both structured and unstructured data.
• Programming Mastery: High-level proficiency in Python and/or Scala / Java.
• Data Modeling: Deep experience in SQL and Data Modeling.
• Storage Systems Expertise: Extensive experience with diverse storage systems:
• RDBMS: (PostgreSQL / Oracle / MySQL)
• NoSQL: (MongoDB / Cassandra / Elasticsearch)
• Object Storage: (S3 / GCS / HDFS)

Databases & Storage:

• RDBMS: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL
• NoSQL: MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch
• Object Storage: S3 / GCS / HDFS

Nice to Have

• Experience with real-time streaming technologies
• Background working with large-scale distributed systems
