Software Team Leader

A profitable, fast-growing data technology company is hiring a hands-on Tech Lead to lead backend architecture and help shape the next phase of its platform.

The Role

This is a technical leadership position with real ownership. You will:

• Lead backend architecture and design scalable, event-driven distributed systems

• Stay hands-on with code (TypeScript preferred) while setting engineering direction

• Drive improvements across tooling, infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD

• Translate product and business needs into clean, maintainable technical solutions

• Establish and uphold high standards for code quality, testing, and operational excellence

• Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams

• Evaluate and introduce technologies that improve scalability and long-term maintainability

You’ll work directly with the VP R&D and have meaningful impact on architecture and engineering culture.

What They’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a hands-on Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Architect

• Deep expertise in system design and distributed systems

• Strong coding ability and desire to remain hands-on

• Experience leading major technical initiatives end-to-end

• Experience defining engineering standards and best practices

• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Significant experience with TypeScript and Node.js

• Background in event-driven architectures

• Exposure to LLMs and modern AI tooling

• Experience with networking, proxies, scraping, or reverse engineering

• Experience working with social platform integrations
