Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Python-based test automation, system-level testing, and CI/CD integration.

This is not a manual QA role. You will own and evolve our automation framework, drive quality engineering practices, and work as a core partner to backend, DevOps, and security engineers.

Right now, that means a Windows endpoint security agent — a privileged process that intercepts system calls, monitors execution flows, and talks to a server-side microservice stack. Windows is where we are today; cross-platform support is on the roadmap, and this role grows with it.

You will have a direct impact on release confidence, coverage depth, and CI reliability — from framework design to production gates.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain automated tests using Python and Pytest as the core framework.
• Convert complex manual test flows into scalable, maintainable E2E and integration coverage.
• Validate full system flows across UI, API, and backend components — within the same test runs.
• Improve test architecture, fixtures, and overall framework design
• Debug flaky tests and drive stability and reliability in CI
• Work closely with developers and DevOps to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Identify coverage gaps and push automation-first approaches across the team
• Evolve the testing framework as the product expands to new platforms

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA Automation / Test Engineering
• Strong Python experience — design, debugging, architecture; not just scripting
• Deep hands-on Pytest — fixtures, parametrization, framework design
• Experience building E2E and integration tests for complex, multi-component systems
• Combining UI (Playwright) and API/system-level validation within the same test flows
• Strong debugging skills, especially for flaky or environment-sensitive failures
• Experience integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines — GitHub Actions preferred
• Proven ability to convert manual test flows into scalable automation

Nice to Have

• Background in security products — the closer to the threat layer, the better
• Exposure to penetration testing concepts
• Experience with performance testing
• OS-level debugging: process/service lifecycle, filesystem behavior, permissions, execution flows.
• Distributed systems and microservices-based architectures
• Cloud environments — AWS, Azure, or containerized test infrastructure
• Experience improving automation reliability and execution performance at scale
• Observability and test reporting — ReportPortal, Grafana, or similar
• Test management tooling — Xray, Jira
• Familiarity with software engineering principles — OOP, SOLID, KISS, DRY — and design patterns relevant to test frameworks (Singleton, Factory, Builder, Strategy)
