Software Team Lead

An early-stage Israeli cybersecurity startup develops an AI-native platform designed to secure GenAI integration within large organizations. The technology focuses on access control, policy enforcement, and real-time response to mitigate risks associated with Large Language Models.

Operating with a high-caliber team of ten, the company is building the infrastructure necessary to protect organizational data while enabling the safe adoption of generative AI tools.

The company is located in Central Israel (prime location near major transport hubs) and operates a hybrid work model with one day remote flexibility.

Role Overview:

• Technical Leadership: Managing a distributed team of six developers across Israel and Europe, while maintaining a 20-30% hands-on (HO) presence.
• Backend Architecture: Leading the design and implementation of robust backend services and security protocols using Java and Python.
• AI Integration: Overseeing the development of RAG architectures, vector databases, and agent frameworks to support real-time security monitoring.
• Agile Management: Driving development cycles by managing sprints and implementing Agile methodologies within a fast-paced environment.
• Product Strategy: Collaborating with the founding team to translate security requirements into scalable software features for enterprise clients.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in Engineering Management (Team Lead level) in a hands-on capacity – Mandatory.
• Proven track record in Backend Development (Java and/or Python) – Mandatory.
• Expertise in AI/ML technologies (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and agent frameworks) – Mandatory.
• Significant experience with AI libraries (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or similar) – Mandatory.
• Deep understanding of Vector Databases and modern data retrieval techniques.
• Demonstrated experience in managing distributed teams and Agile sprint cycles.
