Senior Algorithm Engineer

One of our clients, a small and highly cohesive defense technology company, is looking to hire a Senior Communication Algorithms Engineer (PHY wireless specialization).

The company develops advanced communication systems for military platforms, specializing in cutting-edge wireless technologies and signal processing solutions. It operates as part of a larger defense group while maintaining a family-like atmosphere, a young and dynamic culture, and a matrix organizational structure. Most of the team consists of engineers from diverse technical disciplines.

Job Description:

• Communication system characterization
• End-to-end communication system design
• Performance analysis through simulations
• Development and maintenance of modem (PHY) algorithms
• Code support, including test vector creation and debugging
• Support for final system testing
• Participation in system characterization and field trials

Requirements:

• MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering or Signal Processing
• At least 5 years of experience in algorithm development, with a strong background in signal processing and wireless communications
• Proven experience with single-carrier and multi-carrier modems, including:
• Error correcting codes
• Channel equalization
• AGC
• Clock recovery
• Phase recovery and tracking
• Mandatory: proven experience in communication systems
• Mandatory: experience with OFDM
• Experience with MATLAB and/or Python
• Understanding of MATLAB/Python to Verilog implementation, including fixed-point specification and bit-accurate modeling
• Hands-on laboratory experience in debugging and tuning algorithms
• Experience in RTL design for FPGA/MPSoC
• Hands-on approach combined with the ability to provide professional matrix leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, creativity, independence, and multitasking ability

• This role serves as the professional authority for algorithmics within the company
• Includes matrix management of 1–2 junior engineers
• Requires a hands-on approach alongside leadership responsibilities
• Work model: 100% on-site
