An early-stage Israeli deep-tech startup is revolutionizing medicinal chemistry by developing a platform to identify high-quality drug candidates.
Unlike purely computational models, the company’s approach is anchored in in-lab chemical experimentation (POC), creating a unique synergy between physical laboratory methods and advanced algorithmic prediction.
Founded by domain experts and backed by a significant Seed round with a 5-year runway, this founding team of five is building the next generation of molecular design and drug discovery tools.
The company currently operates in a remote-first model (transitioning to a central Israel office in the near future) and offers a high-impact, research-to-production ownership role.
Role Overview:
- Founding Leadership: Joining as the first key hire under the CTO to spearhead the development and implementation of advanced algorithms for drug discovery.
- Multidisciplinary Research: Developing models based on physics-informed machine learning, scientific simulations, and computational geometries to optimize molecular design.
- Hybrid Engineering: Moving fluidly from deep mathematical research to production-grade implementation, ensuring models are scalable and robust.
- Advanced Problem Solving: Applying diverse methodologies such as Optimization, Dynamic Programming, and Scientific Simulations to solve complex chemical and biological challenges.
- Strategic Growth: Identifying potential technical bottlenecks and providing innovative solutions, with a clear path toward leading the future algorithmic and research department.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics – Mandatory.
- Proven professional experience in Machine Learning – Mandatory.
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following: Scientific Simulation, Computational Geometry, Dynamic Programming, Numerical Methods (PDEs), or Quantum Algorithms – Mandatory.
- Strong software development foundations for translating research into functional code – Mandatory.
- Ability to thrive in an early-stage, multidisciplinary environment combining chemistry, physics, and computer science.
