Web Application Team Leader

An Israeli-founded cybersecurity startup specializes in advanced Application Runtime Security, developing a real-time protection layer for software applications and infrastructures.

The platform monitors application behavior to detect and neutralize sophisticated threats as they occur.

Founded by serial entrepreneurs with a proven track record of industry exits and elite military technology backgrounds, the company operates as a high-caliber R&D boutique of approximately 12 professionals.

The company is located in Central Israel (prime location near major transport hubs) and operates a hybrid work model with two days remote flexibility.

Role Overview:

• Technical Leadership: Leading the security research domain, including direct management of a researcher with plans for team expansion, while maintaining an 80% hands-on (HO) presence.
• Vulnerability Research: Conducting advanced research into Web Application vulnerabilities and modern attack vectors to stay ahead of emerging threats.
• Threat Detection Logic: Analyzing large-scale telemetry and data to identify sophisticated attack patterns and developing the core logic for the platform's real-time defense mechanisms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering with R&D and Security Operations teams to integrate research findings into the production environment and enhance monitoring capabilities.
• Strategic Autonomy: Exercising full independence in task management and research direction, reporting directly to the VP of R&D / Head of Engineering.

Requirements:

• 3 years of professional experience in Web Application Security Research or Advanced Penetration Testing – Mandatory.
• Deep Mastery of OWASP Top 10 and a comprehensive understanding of modern web-based attack vectors – Mandatory.
• Third-Party Security Expertise: Proven ability to identify and remediate security flaws within open-source libraries and third-party software – Mandatory.
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and script effectively in languages such as Python, JavaScript (Node.js), Go, or Java – Mandatory.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for mentorship and knowledge sharing.
