Forward Deployed Engineer

Ottomat builds autonomous AI agents for traditional businesses - systems that replace entire operational workflows, integrated into the client's environment and operated ongoing. Our clients are SMEs with real processes and no internal tech team. We own the outcome, not just the delivery.

The Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work directly with clients to understand their operations, design the solution, and own it from first conversation through production. This is a generalist role that requires both technical depth and the ability to earn trust in a room with business owners.

You'll be accountable for real business impact - not tickets, not sprints. Projects.

What You'll Do

• Lead client discovery and translate operational challenges into clear technical specs
• Build and deploy AI agent systems integrated with the client's existing tools and data
• Own reliability, performance, and iteration post-launch
• Work directly with the founder on every engagement

What We're Looking For

• 1–4 years of experience with end-to-end delivery - you've taken something from requirements to production
• Comfortable working directly with non-technical stakeholders
• Strong ownership mindset and low tolerance for ambiguity as an excuse
• Genuine interest in applied AI - agents, integrations, real-world automation
