AVD Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist with strong expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or similar VDI technologies, to lead the design, implementation, and operation of a large‑scale Desktop as a Service environment supporting thousands of users.

The role includes end‑to‑end ownership of virtual desktop infrastructure, advanced troubleshooting, performance optimization, and cross‑team collaboration with cloud, network, and security teams. This is a hands‑on, senior technical position requiring strong architectural understanding and the ability to lead complex infrastructure initiatives.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead end‑to‑end architecture, design, and implementation of AVD solutions.
• Drive deployment and rollout of virtual desktop environments, including coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnose complex issues, and optimize performance across VDI and cloud environments.
• Lead infrastructure automation processes and continuous improvement initiatives (no coding required).
• Collaborate with technology partners, evaluate solutions, and participate in technical discussions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Support cross‑functional initiatives across infrastructure, cloud, security, and networking teams.

Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong hands‑on experience with virtual desktop technologies: AVD / Citrix / Horizon – must.
• Experience working in a medium‑to‑large enterprise (1,000+ users).
• Solid architectural understanding of cloud‑based solutions and end‑to‑end system design.
• Experience with Azure AD / Entra ID for identity and access management.
• Knowledge of networking and security infrastructure:
• Firewalls (Fortinet / F5)
• Load Balancing & Reverse Proxy
• Cloud Security / Zero Trust
• Advanced troubleshooting, performance analysis, and diagnostics experience.
• Experience leading automation initiatives (no coding required).
• Strong vendor‑management and technical leadership skills.
• Experience producing high‑quality infrastructure documentation.

Education & Certifications – Advantage

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Systems.
• Certifications such as: AZ‑104, AZ‑305, MCSA, MCSE.
