Postdoctoral Researcher - Auditory Neuroscience & Brain-Technology Integration

Position Description

The Baruch Ivcher Institute for Brain, Cognition and Technology at Reichman University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position spanning auditory neuroscience, technology development, and brain-technology integration. We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our multidisciplinary team investigating sensory perception, multisensory integration, and the development of innovative technologies for sensory enhancement and rehabilitation. The successful candidate will be involved in both auditory/spatial processing research and direct brain-technology integration studies.

Our institute houses world-class facilities and technologies for cutting-edge neuroscience research. We operate a state-of-the-art multisensory ambisonic room for spatial audio research and immersive experiences, providing unparalleled opportunities for auditory and multisensory experimentation. As part of our lab work, researchers have free access to MRI equipment and top-tier EEG devices for neuroimaging studies. Our technology suite includes dry state-of-the-art EEG helmets, advanced EEG headbands, neurofeedback systems, and emerging technologies ranging from vagus nerve stimulation to wearable haptic devices that convert low-frequency sound into physical sensations.

The lab maintains active collaborations with leading industry partners and research organizations. Prof. Amir Amedi serves as co-founder and chief scientist of Remepy, which pioneers Hybrid Drugs™—integrating traditional medication with AI-driven digital interventions to enhance motor, cognitive, and mental function. We collaborate with wearable haptics companies developing high-fidelity devices, neurotechnology firms advancing brain-computer interfaces, and defense research directorates on applied neuroscience projects. Our research spans a diverse range of topics from neurological diseases and rehabilitation to longevity and human enhancement, offering tremendous opportunities for brain research and innovation.

Required:

·       PhD in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Engineering, or related field (completed within the past 5 years)

·       Strong research background in neuroscience with emphasis on sensory research

·       Technical skills in programming and/or hardware development

·       Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

·       Multisensory integration research

·       Haptics and touch perception

·       Audio processing and digital signal processing

·       Programming languages: MAX/MSP, C, Arduino

·       Experience with neuroimaging techniques (fMRI, EEG)

·       Familiarity with embedded systems or hardware prototyping

·       Knowledge of Hebrew and English
