Algorithm Engineer

An established Israeli aerospace technology company specializes in the development of mission-critical communication systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The company maintains a robust R&D environment focused on end-to-end system design, from high-level architectural planning to low-level physical layer optimization.

The company is located in Central Israel (prime industrial and tech zone) and operates a hybrid work model with one day remote flexibility.

Role Overview:

• End-to-End System Design: Leading the characterization and architectural planning of advanced wireless communication systems for aerial platforms.
• PHY Layer Algorithms: Designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated Modem (PHY) algorithms, focusing on signal integrity and robust data transmission.
• Performance Analysis: Utilizing simulations to analyze system performance and optimize communication links in challenging environments.
• Implementation Support: Collaborating with hardware and software teams on code implementation, including the generation of test vectors and hands-on debugging.
• Laboratory Validation: Conducting comprehensive lab testing to validate algorithms and perform real-world hardware-software optimization.

Requirements:

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field focusing on Signal Processing – Mandatory.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Algorithm Development – Mandatory.
• Strong background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Wireless Communication theory – Mandatory.
• Expertise in MATLAB or Python for algorithm modeling and simulation – Mandatory.
• Proven experience in a laboratory environment, including algorithm testing and optimization on hardware.
