System Architect

Our client is a global leader in Data Intelligence and Enterprise Web Infrastructure, who is looking for a visionary System Architect to join them.

In this position, you will own the end-to-end system architecture. You aren't just drawing diagrams; you are staying deeply involved in the implementation and code, ensuring that event-driven systems operate with absolute reliability at a massive scale.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Ownership: Define the long-term platform strategy, ensuring every design choice aligns with product needs and extreme scalability requirements.
• Hands-On Evolution: Build and evolve distributed, event-driven backend systems while remaining "in the trenches" with core services and critical paths.
• Technical Vision: Translate complex business needs into robust technical designs and clear system boundaries.
• Optimization & Resilience: Identify bottlenecks and technical debt, leading initiatives to solve them through thoughtful, pragmatic design.
• Engineering Excellence: Set the standard for code quality, observability, and resilience, serving as the ultimate technical reference point for the engineering organization.
  
  

• Proven Architectural Pedigree: Significant experience as a System Architect, Staff Engineer, or Senior Technical Lead with a track record of making foundational design decisions.
• Distributed Systems Expertise: Deep knowledge of software architecture trade-offs regarding performance, maintainability, and high-availability.
• Coding Proficiency: Strong hands-on skills (ideally in TypeScript) and a genuine desire to remain close to the codebase.
• Operational Intuition: A high-bar for observability, fault tolerance, and production debugging in complex environments.
• Pragmatic Leadership: The ability to balance "perfect" architecture with real-world business constraints and communicate those trade-offs to stakeholders.
  
  

• Deep experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong background in Event-Driven Architectures.
• Experience with LLMs and modern AI/ML integration.
• Familiarity with Networking, Proxies, or Reverse Engineering.
• Experience building data-intensive solutions for major social media or web platforms.
