Backend Engineer - Payments Charges Team

We are looking for a passionate Backend Engineer to join our growing TLV R&D center and become a core member of our Payments Charges team. This team is a central pillar of Lendbuzz.

We are responsible for the financial engine of the company: processing loan repayments and managing massive fund transfers to car dealerships. You will work on highly critical, high-volume systems where accuracy, reliability, and performance are absolute musts.

As a Backend Engineer on the Charges Team, you will:

• Develop and maintain critical backend services for our payments charges infrastructure
• Integrate with complex external financial APIs and banking systems to facilitate secure money transfers
• Design and build robust architecture to handle high-volume financial transactions with zero tolerance for data loss
• Write clean, well-tested code to ensure the highest level of system reliability
• Leverage AI coding assistants to boost productivity, while maintaining strict code quality, security, and critical review standards
• Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Finance, and other engineering teams to release features that impact thousands of happy customers and partners
  
  

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in backend development
• Strong programming skills, with expertise in Python
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Preference for top-tier universities)
• Deep understanding and proven experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent)
• Experience designing and integrating with APIs (RESTful services)
• A "quality-first" mindset: Strong understanding of testing methodologies and writing code for highly sensitive/critical systems
• Tech-savvy and adaptable: Experience or a strong desire to incorporate AI dev tools into your daily workflow, combined with the critical thinking needed to review and validate AI-generated code
• Independent, proactive, with great interpersonal skills
  
  

• Previous experience in Fintech, billing, or payment systems
• Experience working with microservices architecture
• Familiarity with AWS
