Data Engineer

A successful startup providing supply chain solutions for the retail sector, delivering technological tools for operational optimization.

The company has over 100 employees globally, including 60+ in Israel, and has raised tens of millions of dollars across two funding rounds.

The offices are located in the central region of Israel, near the train line, with a hybrid work model (two days from home).

Role overview:

• Manage a team of three employees with 60-70% hands-on development.
• Lead and coordinate day-to-day team activities, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
• Contribute to technical decisions, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
• Collaborate closely with global teams to implement scalable solutions for the retail sector.

Requirements:

• 7 years of experience in data engineering, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Expertise in Apache Spark, including optimization and tuning.
• Experience in designing and scaling Data Lake architectures (Iceberg, Delta Lake, or similar).
• Strong Python and SQL skills for data engineering and pipeline orchestration.
• Understanding of AWS services, containerized deployments (Kubernetes/EKS), and distributed computing.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or similar).
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams through large-scale data transformations.
