A leading company in central Israel is looking for a Head of Import & Export.

Job Description:

Full responsibility for managing, supervising, and coordinating all company import and export activities, including working with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, authorities, and regulatory bodies בארץ ובחו״ל.

The role includes leading the compliance domain, managing classifications, and ensuring adherence to strict regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end management of import and export processes, including documentation, customs clearance, shipping, and logistics coordination
• Responsibility for item classification in accordance with international regulations, including:
• ITAR / EAR (U.S.)
• Dual-use export regulations
• Import/export regulations in India
• Ongoing work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, international suppliers, and customers
• Managing export licensing processes with relevant authorities
• Building procedures, controls, and workflows for import/export and compliance
• Supporting projects in electronics and defense equipment, ensuring proper shipping, classification, and regulatory requirements
• Real-time problem-solving מול customs authorities, regulatory bodies, and international stakeholders
• Managing internal interfaces: Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Legal, Finance, and Production
• Monitoring regulatory changes and updating company leadership accordingly

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience managing import/export in a technological/industrial company
• Deep knowledge of item classification (HS, ECCN)
• Proven experience with U.S. export regulations (ITAR/EAR)
• Experience working with import/export regulations in India
• Strong understanding of customs processes, international shipping, import/export documentation, and standards
• Excellent English (written, spoken, and reading)
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally and meet deadlines
