The Microscopy Unit of the Life Science and Engineering (LS&E) Infrastructure is looking for a Light Microscopy Imaging Specialist

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

✔ Providing expertise and support for imaging projects, particularly in wide-field microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy, light sheet microscopy, and two-photon microscopy.

✔ Advising researchers on experimental design, sample preparation, and image acquisition strategies.

✔ Training users in basic and advanced light microscopy techniques.

✔ Maintaining and servicing imaging systems.

✔ Exploring new imaging technologies, organizing instrument demonstrations, and troubleshooting new imaging systems.

Required Qualifications:

🔹 Master’s or Ph.D. degree in natural sciences, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, biophysics, physics, or related fields.

🔹 Hands-on experience with basic and advanced light microscopy techniques.

🔹 Excellent English and strong communication skills.

🔹 Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented mindset, with a commitment to supporting researchers in both basic and advanced microscopy applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

✔ Experience with advanced microscopy techniques such as super-resolution microscopy (SIM, STORM, STED), FRET, TIRF, and FCS technologies.

✔ Background in image analysis, programming, computer science, or optical technology development.
