Technical Program Manager - Release & Production

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to own how product changes reach production across the LayerX platform.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering execution, product delivery and production quality. You will define and operate the processes that govern how releases are planned, validated and introduced into production, while maintaining clear visibility into production state and customer exposure.

The role requires strong technical understanding, operational ownership and the ability to coordinate across engineering, QA, DevOps and product teams to ensure releases are predictable, safe and well communicated.

Responsibilities:

Release Process & Governance

• Define and evolve release processes and production readiness standards across the platform
• Establish release readiness criteria, quality signals and validation expectations for production releases
• Improve deployment safety and rollout strategies as the system scales
• Ensure releases are evaluated from both engineering and customer impact perspectives
  
  

• Coordinate production changes across backend services, browser extensions, infrastructure and configuration updates
• Ensure releases follow defined processes, validation steps and operational guidelines
• Track upcoming releases and maintain a clear operational view of what is going to production and when
• Align engineering, QA, DevOps and product teams around release readiness and deployment timing
  
  

• Maintain visibility into how releases impact different customer environments and deployment surfaces
• Track customer exposure through deployment channels, configurations and feature flags
• Own visibility into production exposure across backend services, browser extensions and endpoint components
• Maintain awareness of different customer tiers and their tolerance for change, ensuring releases and rollout decisions reflect customer risk profiles
• Represent the customer perspective in release readiness discussions, ensuring stability and experience expectations are met for different customer segments
• Help internal teams understand what has changed, what is changing and which customers may be affected
  
  

• Improve tooling and automation around release processes and production visibility
• Build or extend internal workflows that connect release information across systems such as Slack, GitHub and Jira
• Improve release communication, release visibility and release notes generation
• Help create better operational visibility for engineering and customer-facing teams
  
  

• Identify gaps in release processes, testing coverage and deployment safety
• Drive improvements that increase release reliability and reduce production risk
• Help evolve LayerX release practices as the system and customer base scale
  
  

• 5+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Release Management or Engineering Operations roles
• Experience coordinating releases across complex software systems
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes and production environments
• Experience working closely with engineering, QA and DevOps teams
• Strong operational mindset and ability to drive cross-team execution
• Ability to understand system behavior and evaluate releases from a customer impact perspective
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
  
  

• Experience working with endpoint products, client-side software or security agents
• Background in cybersecurity or infrastructure-heavy systems
• Familiarity with staged rollout strategies, version channels or progressive deployments
• Experience building automation or internal tooling around release processes
• Experience working with engineering collaboration tools such as GitHub, Slack and Jira
