Backend Team Lead

We are looking for a Backend Team Lead to guide and scale a high-caliber team of 5+ engineers (growing fast). This is a pivotal role for a hands-on leader who thrives on solving deep technical challenges, architecting distributed systems from the ground up, and mentoring elite engineering talent.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Scale: Mentor and grow a backend squad, expected to double in size over the next 12–18 months.
• Architectural Ownership: Design and build production-grade APIs and the core infrastructure layer of our intelligence platform.
• High-Scale Engineering: Architect scalable microservices in Go, ensuring sub-second performance and high reliability.
• AI Enablement: Drive the development of advanced processing pipelines, model serving, and robust data structures.
• Engineering Culture: Foster a culture of excellence, observability, and continuous delivery within a distributed system.
• Cross-Functional Impact: Partner with Product, Frontend, and AI Research teams to turn complex requirements into seamless features.

What You’ll Bring

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 3+ years of hands-on Go in production.
• 3+ years of experience leading or managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Proven Track Record: Experience delivering high-scale distributed systems and robust APIs (REST/gRPC).
• Cloud & DevOps: Strong proficiency with AWS/GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Data Mastery: Deep experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Redis).
• Mindset: A passion for staying close to the code while enabling others, with a strong bias toward ownership and execution.
