The Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Department of Electrical Engineering, is looking for a senior electrical engineer, age 50+, who is ready for a meaningful career transition. This is a role for someone who wants to step away from the race of industry and step into a position of influence, education, and national contribution.

Why this role matters

For over a decade, the current lab head has inspired thousands of students to fall in love with electronics, think like real engineers, build systems from the ground up, and in the third semester make a System Verilog computer game and be a "real" engineer.

Now, as I retire, we are looking for the next leader to carry this mission forward.

You will lead a central teaching laboratory that serves around 800 students every year, shaping how future electrical engineers think, experiment, and grow.

What you will do

• Lead and manage a major teaching laboratory in electronics
• Mentor and guide students, instructors, and young engineers
• Manage a multidisciplinary team including engineers, instructors, and academic staff
• Design and develop advanced experiments in analog, digital, and integrated systems
• Combine hands-on engineering with teaching, leadership, and vision
• Influence the academic syllabus and the way electronics is taught at the Technion
• Create a professional and inspiring learning environment

An academic background in Electrical Engineering is required, with preference for M.Sc or D.Sc. Strong knowledge in analog and digital electronics, Verilog, and system-level thinking is essential.
