We are looking for a hands-on Senior Full Stack Engineer to help design, build, and scale core product capabilities across frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

Role Summary

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and scaling Watercooler’s product end-to-end. You will work across the stack — from backend services and APIs to frontend experiences and cloud infrastructure — helping deliver reliable, secure, and user-friendly product capabilities.

This role requires strong experience with Python, REST APIs, and AWS, along with solid full stack engineering skills. A background in AI-powered applications is a strong advantage.

What You’ll Build and Improve

You will directly contribute to areas such as:

• Backend services and business logic powering core product workflows
• REST APIs for internal and external product functionality
• Frontend application features and user experiences
• Cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and system scalability
• Integrations with data sources and third-party platforms
• Product capabilities that support analytics and AI-driven workflows

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python
• Develop and maintain REST APIs to support product functionality and integrations
• Build and enhance frontend features and user experiences across the application
• Work with AWS services to deploy, monitor, and scale production systems
• Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering teams to deliver new capabilities
• Improve system performance, reliability, maintainability, and security
• Participate in architecture decisions and help define engineering best practices
• Support integration of AI-driven features and workflows into the product
• Troubleshoot production issues and help ensure high system availability
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code across the stack

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant full stack development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Python
• Proven experience designing and building REST APIs
• Experience working with AWS in production environments
• Experience building modern web applications across frontend and backend layers
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, and performance best practices
• Experience working with databases, integrations, and cloud-based systems
• Ability to work cross-functionally and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-enabled products or integrating AI capabilities into applications
• Familiarity with LLM-based products, data pipelines, or analytics platforms
• Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, HR tech, or data products
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production monitoring
• Familiarity with secure development practices and enterprise-grade systems
• Experience working in startup environments with fast iteration cycles

First 90 Days (Expected Outcomes)

• 30 days: Get familiar with Watercooler’s architecture, product workflows, codebase, and engineering priorities
• 60 days: Deliver meaningful improvements or new features across backend and frontend systems
• 90 days: Take ownership of core product components and contribute to infrastructure, API, and product scalability improvements
