The Role

We are looking for a highly capable Lead Software Engineer who wants to take full ownership of our technical backend operations. This is not a standard ticket-punching coding job. You will be the technical anchor of the company and a true "all-around player." While your core focus will be writing high-quality Django/Python code for complex integrations (like payment gateways and Ministry of Health APIs) and managing our cloud infrastructure and security, we highly value full-stack versatility. You will work closely with management, mentor our remote junior developer, and act as the "go-to" person for all server-related operations. For the right candidate, this role is a direct path to becoming our full Team Lead / Tech Lead, overseeing the entire R&D execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Backend Development: Lead the development of our core SaaS platform using Python and Django. Architect solutions for complex features, regulatory integrations, and billing systems.
• Full DevOps & Security Ownership: Take over and manage our cloud infrastructure. Maintain CI/CD pipelines, Docker containerization, configure WAF (Cloudflare), and ensure our sensitive medical data meets strict compliance standards (OWASP etc.)
• Full-Stack Flexibility: While the backend is your domain, you aren't afraid to dive into the frontend code to deliver end-to-end features or fix critical UI bugs when necessary.
• Mentorship & Quality Assurance: Oversee, guide, and conduct code reviews for our remote junior developer, ensuring high-quality and scalable code delivery.
• AI & Future-Ready Tech Stack: Actively leverage AI tools (Copilot, Claude, etc.) to optimize internal development velocity. You will architect our backend to support advanced, data-driven features and emerging technologies.
• Technical Strategy & Agile Execution: Bridge the gap between product needs and technical execution. Partner closely with the PM to translate market needs into scalable solutions, focusing on quick time-to-market.

Qualifications:

• Development: 4+ years of hands-on experience in Backend Development, with a strong focus on Python and Django.
• Infrastructure & Security: Proven, independent experience managing cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, server hardening, and WAF configurations.
• Leadership Mindset: A proactive "owner" mentality. You see a problem in production, you fix it. You don't wait for others to solve it for you.
• Communication: Fluent English for managing and communicating with our remote team members.

Bonus Points:

• Frontend Experience: Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.).
• Previous experience mentoring developers or leading a small team.
• Experience with integrations involving medical records, government APIs, or payment processors (PCI compliance).

Work Model: Hybrid (Binyamina office 3 days/week).
