Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Electronic Enclosures

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Electronic Packaging to join the engineering department of a Defense company. In this role, you will lead the mechanical design and development of complex electronic enclosures, cabinets, and sub-systems, ensuring they meet rigorous environmental, thermal, and structural requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design of electronic enclosures from initial concept through detailed design, prototyping, and mass production.
• Perform heat dissipation simulations and basic structural analyses to ensure system reliability under diverse environmental conditions.
• Create comprehensive manufacturing drawings, assembly instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Define manufacturing methods and coordinate with subcontractors for machining, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Work closely with Electrical Engineering and System Architects to integrate PCBs and cabling into mechanical structures.

Requirements:

• Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory.
• Experience: At least 5 years of proven experience in Electronic Packaging or mechanical hardware design – Mandatory.
• Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in SolidWorks or NX (CAD modeling and drafting) – Mandatory.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing technologies: CNC machining, die casting, and sheet metal.
• Thermal Design: Proven experience in thermal management and heat dissipation solutions for electronics – Significant Advantage.
• Language: High-level English (written and verbal).
