Business Intelligence Developer

Convertologic, a leading tech company in the online advertising and comparison industry, is looking for a motivated, responsible, and independent BI developer with at least 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities:

• Create dashboards against large data sets.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to enable monitoring product performance.
• Create readable and informative data visualizations to communicate data insights to the marketing team.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in Product, Technology, Marketing, and Sales to allow them to translate findings into actions.
• Continuously learn and develop BI skills (i.e. new Looker product features, LookML, SQL optimisation) while working with our team of developers.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a BI Developer or Data Analyst (Experience with Looker Studio - a must).
• Minimum 3 years experience in a BI Developer role, delivering production-grade dashboards and reporting solutions
• Proven ability to design and maintain performant dashboards at scale for large, complex datasets, using optimised queries and data models.
• Expertise in data modelling.
• Skilled in SQL optimisation and transformation within cloud data warehouse environments (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• SQL expert.
• Advanced proficiency in writing complex, efficient SQL queries for large-scale datasets, including joins, window functions, and nested subqueries.
• Strong capability in query optimisation, indexing strategies, and performance tuning to minimise latency and cost in cloud data warehouses.
• Experience in building reusable, maintainable SQL transformations for BI semantic layers and reporting models.
• Skilled in translating business logic into precise SQL, ensuring consistency and accuracy across KPIs and metrics.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to details.
• Structured analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to break down complex BI requirements into discrete technical tasks, from data sourcing through to visualisation.
• Skilled in diagnosing data quality, transformation, or performance issues using systematic investigation and root cause analysis.
• Capable of designing repeatable, standardised processes for dashboard development, testing, and maintenance.
• Adept at documenting technical decisions and solution designs to support long-term maintainability and cross-team alignment.
• Ability to think creatively and to work well both as part of a team and as an individual contributor.
• Expert in Data Visualisation and BI Tooling.
• Proficiency in developing performant dashboards using Looker/Looker Studio.
• Skilled in designing visualisations that accurately represent business metrics and KPI logic.
• Ability to optimise visual elements and underlying queries for speed, usability, and maintainability.
• Experience in applying best practices for layout, interactivity, and accessibility in BI reporting assets.
• Competence in configuring semantic layers, calculated fields, and drill paths to support self-serve exploration by stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related technical field - an advantage.
• Equivalent professional experience in BI development, data modelling, and SQL engineering will be considered in place of formal education.
