Automation Team Leader

We are looking for an experienced Automation Team Leader to own and drive our test automation strategy. In this role, you will lead a team of automation engineers, architect scalable test infrastructure, and champion quality-first practices across the engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

•     Lead, mentor, and grow a team of automation developers, setting technical direction and best practices.

•     Design and maintain a robust test automation infrastructure supporting end-to-end, integration, and regression testing.

•     Define and implement automation standards, frameworks, and coding guidelines using Playwright and Cypress.

•     Collaborate with product, development, and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

•     Plan and prioritize automation efforts, manage sprint tasks, and report on team velocity and quality metrics.

•     Review test code written by team members and conduct regular code reviews to ensure quality.

•     Continuously evaluate and introduce new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve the testing ecosystem.

Requirements

•     3+ years of experience leading or managing an automation engineering team.

•     Proven hands-on experience writing automated tests using code (not record-and-playback).

•     Strong proficiency in Playwright and Cypress for end-to-end UI testing.

•     Experience designing and building test automation infrastructure from scratch (frameworks, reporting, CI integration).

•     Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•     Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.

Nice to Have

•     Experience with API testing (REST) using tools such as Supertest or Postman.

•     Familiarity with performance testing or security testing tools.

•     Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
