Backend Design

A successful global technology startup is developing advanced, high-speed communication chips designed for large-scale data centers. The company is at the forefront of the semiconductor industry, creating innovative hardware solutions that enable high-frequency data transfer with optimized power efficiency.

Backed by significant investment and composed of elite engineering talent, the organization is currently scaling its R&D center to support the development of next-generation silicon technologies.

The company is located in Central Israel (prime location near major transport hubs) and operates a hybrid work model with remote flexibility.

Role Overview:

• Full Flow Execution: Taking ownership of the full RTL2GDSII flow, managing complex designs for advanced process nodes.
• Advanced Backend Design: Implementing high-frequency and low-power methodologies to meet aggressive performance and power targets.
• Technical Integration: Leading complicated IP integration and working with memory compilers and automated block generators.
• Sign-off & Verification: Conducting critical verification tasks, including Timing STA, IR-Drop analysis, and Equivalence Checking.
• Vendor Collaboration: Coordinating with external vendors and partners to manage ramp-up flows for cutting-edge technologies.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Electronics – Mandatory.
• 8+ years of professional experience in Backend Design – Mandatory.
• Proven expertise in the full RTL2GDSII flow, including:
• Logic synthesis & constraints definition/writing.
• Floorplanning and PG Mesh design.
• Place & Route (P&R).
• DFT (Design for Testability) implementation.
• Deep experience in Low Power Design, including definition, implementation, and verification (UPF/CPF).
• Strong proficiency in Sign-off methodologies, specifically Timing STA and IR-Drop analysis.
