Back End Developer

We are looking for a heavy-hitting Senior Backend Engineer to architect our next-generation data platform. This role sits at the intersection of high-performance microservices and modern Data Lakehouse architecture. You will be responsible for building scalable event-driven systems using Go and NestJS, while owning a storage layer centered on Apache Iceberg, Nessie, and SeaweedFS.

As a senior leader, you will not only write mission-critical code but also establish the "Golden Paths" for our AWS infrastructure using ArgoCD, providing technical mentorship to elevate our mid-level engineering team.

Key Technologies

• Languages: Golang (Data hot-paths), TypeScript/NestJS (APIs & Business Logic).
• Data Lakehouse: Apache Iceberg (Table Format), Nessie (Catalog & Versioning), Trino (Query Engine).
• Event Streaming: Apache Kafka & Kafka Connect.
• Storage: SeaweedFS (Distributed Object Store).
• Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, S3, RDS), ArgoCD (GitOps), Kubernetes, Terraform.

Core Responsibilities

• Data Infrastructure: Design and maintain a high-throughput ingestion pipeline from Kafka to Apache Iceberg, ensuring ACID compliance and data reliability.
• High-Scale Backend: Build and optimize microservices in Go for low-latency processing and NestJS for robust, scalable application logic.
• Storage Strategy: Architect and scale SeaweedFS to handle billions of small files with O(1) disk seeks, optimizing for our analytics workloads.
• GitOps & Deployment: Lead the migration to a fully declarative deployment model using ArgoCD on AWS EKS, ensuring environment parity and automated rollbacks.
• Data Versioning: Implement "Git-for-Data" workflows with Nessie, enabling zero-copy cloning, branching, and merging of datasets.
• Mentorship: Act as the primary technical mentor for mid-level developers, conducting deep-dive architectural reviews and improving team-wide AWS/DevOps proficiency.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: 7+ years in Backend Engineering, with at least 3 years focused on distributed systems or data infrastructure.
• System Design: Proven track record of designing event-driven architectures (Kafka) and managing large-scale SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Cloud Native: Deep expertise in AWS services and Kubernetes orchestration.
• DevOps Mindset: Strong experience with ArgoCD or similar GitOps tools; you believe infrastructure belongs in code, not in manual consoles.
• Leadership: Experience leading technical projects and a genuine passion for mentoring developers.
• Analytical Depth: Familiarity with the "Lakehouse" paradigm and query engines like Trino/Presto.
