Director of Validation and System Integration

One of our clients, a rapidly growing deep-tech company operating at the forefront of one of the most exciting and fast-evolving areas in advanced computing, is looking to hire a Director of Validation and System Integration.

The company develops cutting-edge computing platforms that combine advanced electronics, FPGA-based processing, embedded software, and high-performance system infrastructure. Its technology enables complex computing environments used by leading technology companies and research organizations working on next-generation large-scale compute systems.

We are seeking a Director of Validation and System Integration to lead the organization responsible for end-to-end system integration, product validation strategy, and release readiness. This role ensures that independently developed components across hardware and software come together into a reliable, production-grade platform that meets strict standards for functionality, performance, scalability, and stability.

The role requires strong system-level thinking and operational leadership, ensuring that complex multi-disciplinary systems are fully validated and ready for deployment. A key aspect of the role is translating insights from real-world deployments, system performance observations, and operational feedback into structured validation strategies and automated testing frameworks that continuously improve product quality.

You will work closely with system architects, platform engineering leaders, and product teams to ensure that platform designs are integrable, testable, and measurable at the product level.

Key Responsibilities

System Integration & Product Validation

• Own product-level integration and validation across hardware and software components.
• Ensure component deliverables are integrable, testable, and measurable within the system architecture.
• Define integration milestones and validation checkpoints throughout the development lifecycle.
• Identify integration risks early and drive mitigation plans with architects and engineering leaders.
• Serve as a key quality gate for product readiness.

End-to-End Validation Strategy

• Define and lead the complete validation framework, covering functional correctness, performance, scalability, stability, and reliability.
• Establish clear and measurable release criteria and product-level quality standards.
• Ensure validation spans the full technology stack including hardware, FPGA platforms, embedded software, Linux environments, and system software.
• Continuously expand validation depth as systems scale in complexity.

CI Infrastructure, Automation & Quality Systems

• Own and evolve the product-level Continuous Integration (CI) and validation infrastructure.
• Lead teams responsible for CI pipelines, build systems, automation frameworks, and validation tooling.
• Define quality gates, automated validation pipelines, and promotion flows.
• Enable engineering teams to continuously validate their components within a full system context.
• Drive extensive test automation to accelerate feedback cycles and reduce manual validation.

Release Governance & Product Readiness

• Own product-level release governance and validation sign-off.
• Define release quality metrics and validation thresholds.
• Coordinate system integration cycles, regression testing, and release candidates.
• Balance delivery speed with system robustness through structured release processes.

Leadership & Quality Culture

• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary Validation and System Integration organization.
• Foster a strong culture of product quality, ownership, and engineering excellence.
• Collaborate closely with architecture, platform engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams.
• Build structured feedback loops that translate real-world deployment insights into validation improvements and product quality standards.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience working on complex hardware and software systems.
• 5+ years of experience managing managers or senior technical leaders across multiple engineering domains.
• Proven experience leading system-level validation, integration, or release readiness for multi-component technology platforms.
• Strong understanding of interactions between hardware, FPGA systems, embedded software, and system-level software in production environments.
• Experience building and operating CI infrastructure and automated validation frameworks in large engineering organizations.
• Demonstrated experience defining quality metrics, validation strategies, and release governance models.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
