VP R&D

One of our clients, a fast growing fintech SaaS company, is looking to hire a CTO / VP R&D to lead its engineering organization and drive the technical vision, architecture, and execution of an AI first platform.

The company operates globally and facilitates nearly $2B in financial transactions annually through its platform. The platform helps streamline operations for the private equity and commercial real estate sectors. The engineering culture is AI native, meaning development workflows are built around AI agents, instruction first approaches, and strong engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s technical strategy, system architecture, and execution of the product roadmap

• Manage and grow a high performing engineering team (currently 5 engineers)

• Drive AI powered development methodologies and advance the company’s AI native engineering practices

• Own engineering quality, scalability, reliability, and technical decision making across the platform

• Collaborate closely with Product and Executive teams to align technology with business goals

• Remain hands on in architecture and core system development in critical areas

• Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and ownership

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering with strong backend and system design expertise

• 3+ years of experience in senior engineering leadership roles

• Proven experience using AI assisted development tools to deliver production grade software

• Strong hands on capabilities and willingness to stay actively involved in coding and architecture

• Experience leading development of financial products and SaaS platforms

• Experience building and scaling robust backend systems and APIs

• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment

Advantages

• Experience with backend development using C# and/or Node.js is a strong advantage

• Hybrid : 2-3 days from home
