🔬 PhD Position – Quantum Electronics & Superconducting Quantum Devices
A PhD position is available at Ariel University (Israel) in the field of quantum electronics and superconducting quantum technologies. The research focuses on superconducting quantum devices, superconducting qubits, and quantum systems operating in the microwave and THz frequency ranges.
The project combines low-temperature experimental physics, superconducting materials, and microwave quantum measurements, and is carried out within a collaborative research environment working at the interface of quantum engineering, condensed matter physics, and advanced cryogenic instrumentation.
The PhD student will work on experimental superconducting quantum devices using dilution refrigerator systems and microwave quantum measurement techniques similar to those used in state-of-the-art superconducting qubit platforms.
During the PhD, the student will gain hands-on experience with:
• Dilution refrigerator and cryogenic systems
• Microwave and THz measurements at millikelvin and liquid-helium temperatures
• Growth and fabrication of superconducting thin films
• Characterization of superconducting materials and quantum devices
The position provides access to advanced cryogenic infrastructure, microwave quantum measurement setups, and nanofabrication facilities, and offers training relevant for careers in quantum technologies, superconducting electronics, and advanced experimental physics.
We welcome applicants with a strong background in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or related disciplines, and a strong motivation to work in experimental quantum research.
