Full Stack Engineer – Backend Focus + AI Integration

About Milestone:

Milestone is building the advisory infrastructure layer for cybersecurity, converting advisory work to software.

Today, cyber advisory is delivered by large consulting teams that manually analyze evidence, interpret frameworks like NIST or ISO 27001, and produce static reports. The process is slow, expensive, and does not scale nor compound.

We are building a solution that converts that model into software.

Milestone is building an AI-native reasoning system that ingests security artifacts such as policies, audit reports, control matrices, logs, and interviews, converts them into structured observations, maps them to risk frameworks, and generates evidence-linked findings and recommendations.

The system combines large language models, structured data pipelines, knowledge graphs, and agentic workflows to produce advisory outputs with deterministic traceability from source evidence to final recommendation.

Every engagement strengthens the system’s knowledge, allowing it to improve risk detection, prioritization, and benchmarking across organizations.

We are a small founding engineering team building a category-defining platform at the intersection of:

Role: Full Stack Engineer – Backend Focus & AI Fluency

We’re hiring someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves building intelligent tools, and is eager to shape the future of cybersecurity services.

We also welcome people with management experience and technology leaders, as we operate a team of AI Agents.

What You’ll Do

• Build and own end-to-end features – from Firebase backend to React UI
• Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, etc.) to generate outcomes like cyber insights for enterprises, building audit roadmaps, and generating comparative benchmarks
• Design how agents work, set standards, define guardrails, and build mechanisms that allow them to produce great results as the team expands.
• Design & develop scalable, testable infrastructure for real-time engagement visibility and automation
• Collaborate directly with the CTO and our engineering team to ship fast and smart

What We’re Looking For

• Strong backend experience with Python, TypeScript, Node.js, and Firebase (Firestore, Functions, Auth)
• Comfortable working on the front end with React + MUI
• Built at least 1–2 projects with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, etc.)
• Fast learner, adaptable, and excited by working on ambiguous, high-impact problems
• Bonus: Familiarity with LangChain.js, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone), and AI agent design
