Director of IT and Security

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of IT & Security to lead and scale the organization’s information technology and security operations. This role will be responsible for building secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure while ensuring compliance, risk management, and business continuity across the company.

The Director of IT & Security will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align technology strategy with business objectives and growth plans.

• Own the company’s IT and Information Security strategy, roadmap, and execution

• Lead and manage IT infrastructure (cloud, networks, endpoints, SaaS systems)

• Design and enforce information security policies, procedures, and best practices

• Oversee cybersecurity operations including threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and risk mitigation

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.)

• Manage identity and access management (IAM), device management, and endpoint security

• Drive disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup strategies

• Partner with Engineering, Product, Finance, and HR on secure system architecture and data governance

• Manage IT vendors, MSPs, security tools, and external auditors

• Lead internal security awareness training and promote a security-first culture

• Build and mentor IT and Security teams as the company scales

• Own IT and security budget planning and cost optimization

• 8+ years of experience in IT and/or Information Security roles, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity

• Strong hands-on understanding of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Experience implementing security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, etc.)

• Deep knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, IAM, and SaaS ecosystems

• Experience managing audits and compliance processes

• Proven ability to build processes, tools, and teams from the ground up

• Strong stakeholder management and cross-department collaboration skills

• Experience in high-growth startups or global technology companies – advantage
