Software Engineering Team Lead

About the OpportunityWe are a fast-growing startup in the Identity Infrastructure space, backed by top-tier investors like Team8 and Intel Capital. We are building a platform that leverages deep tech and LLMs to help Fortune 500 companies regain control over identity at scale. We are looking for a hands-on leader to own the development of our core agent—a mission-critical component running on thousands of customer servers.

The Role As an Agent Team Lead, you will be responsible for a high-performance agent that operates deep inside customer systems. This role requires a systems-level mindset where correctness, stability, and safety are paramount. You will manage a team of talented senior engineers with a research and security focus. The position begins with a few months of hands-on engineering to master our internal procedures before fully transitioning into team management.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Mentor: Manage a team of talented engineers with a research/security mindset.
• End-to-End Ownership: Oversee features from research and design to production-grade implementation.
• Systems Engineering: Deliver production-grade code (tests, debugging, profiling) with a high bar for stability and performance.
• Agile Delivery: Estimate, plan, and deliver iteratively while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain technical documentation and partner with Support for incident triage.

Requirements

• Leadership: At least 3 years of experience as an engineering team lead.
• Low-Level Systems: 3+ years of hands-on experience in low-level systems development.
• OS Internals: Strong understanding of user-space operating system concepts (processes, memory management).
• Technical Depth: High proficiency in modern C++ and object-oriented design.
• Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production systems.

Bonus Points

• Experience managing combined engineering and research teams.
• Proficiency in Golang.
• Experience with Linux internals or K8s internals.
• Extensive experience developing agent-like software or language instrumentation frameworks.
