Accountabilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact backend projects using Elixir and Phoenix, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Frontend, SRE, and QA teams to deliver robust APIs, integrations, and backend services.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and platform improvements while maintaining a strong understanding of both technical and product domains.
• Participate actively in code reviews, RFC discussions, and engineering best practices to maintain high-quality standards across the shared codebase.
• Debug and resolve complex technical and business issues in production environments hosted on AWS.
• Mentor and support other engineers, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Engage in broader engineering initiatives such as hiring processes, support rotations, and cross-team collaborations.
  
  

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer, with strong expertise in Elixir, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software systems.
• Solid experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL (or similar).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Proven ability to design and implement APIs with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an asynchronous, remote-first environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
• Nice to have: experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and frontend technologies such as Next.js , React, or Vue/Angular.
