Many of today’s most advanced technologies, from autonomous vehicles and robotics to industrial inspection and smart sensing, depend on complex optical and imaging systems. Yet designing and validating these systems still relies heavily on slow iteration cycles and costly physical prototypes.

3DOptix is building a cloud-based platform that allows engineering teams to create a digital twin of optical and imaging systems and simulate how they will behave in real-world environments before hardware exists. By combining physics-based simulation with scalable cloud computing, the platform helps companies accelerate development, reduce prototyping cycles, and generate realistic image and video datasets used to train AI perception systems.

Simulation correctness is validated through a benchmark-driven methodology: the same optical simulations run both on our cloud GPU engine and on leading CPU-based optical simulation tools, with results compared under matched conditions and high ray counts. This ensures performance gains come from cloud parallelism rather than simplified physics. The platform also supports phase-aware coherent propagation for phase-sensitive applications such as holography, interferometry, metrology, and microscopy.

The system uses a modular sensor pipeline with a generic sensor representation, designed so that additional ISP modeling blocks and sensor-specific models can be added without slowing execution.

The Role

3DOptix is looking for a business-oriented General Manager to join the leadership team and help grow the company through strategic partnerships, enterprise relationships, and market expansion.

A big part of the role is opening doors, building relationships with the right customers, partners, and industry players, and turning those relationships into meaningful collaborations and business opportunities.

The role requires drive and a hands-on approach, someone who enjoys turning ideas into action , identifying opportunities, moving them forward, and helping convert them into partnerships and revenue.

Just as important is a leader who enjoys working closely with people. The team values openness, trust, and collaboration, and the role calls for someone with strong interpersonal skills who contributes to a positive team culture while working side-by-side with the founders and the rest of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s commercial growth and partnership strategy

• Build strategic alliances with global technology companies, OEMs, and enterprise partners, develop lighthouse customers, and expand those relationships into long-term enterprise collaborations

• Represent the company in senior-level engagements, industry events, and strategic discussions

• Work closely with the founders to shape go-to-market strategy and market positioning

Our Target Customers

3DOptix works with companies developing advanced sensing and imaging technologies, including organizations in autonomous systems, automotive / ADAS, industrial inspection, advanced microscopy, and defense sensing systems.

Typical stakeholders include senior leaders responsible for engineering platforms, system architecture, validation infrastructure, and AI perception development, such as:

• Leaders of AI / perception and autonomy programs, responsible for computer vision, perception algorithms, and training data infrastructure.

• CTOs, Chief Engineers, and VP Engineering, responsible for system architecture and technology strategy.

• VPs and Directors of Validation, Systems Engineering, and Product Development, responsible for verification infrastructure, environmental analysis, tolerances, and overall system performance validation.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in business leadership, partnerships, or enterprise business development

• Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a startup environment

• Proven ability to build strategic alliances and complex enterprise collaborations

• Experience working with deep-tech or engineering platforms (simulation, robotics, AI infrastructure, CAD, photonics, semiconductor tools, etc.)

• Open to joining an early-stage startup leadership team and being partially compensated with stock options

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

• A collaborative mindset and appreciation for strong team culture
