Senior System Engineer – Architecture and HW Group

At RealSense, we build cutting‑edge depth cameras and perception systems that power robots, automation platforms, and next‑generation AI. We’re looking for a Senior System Engineer with strong multidisciplinary expertise to design, integrate, and deliver high‑performance hardware platforms that combine optics, sensors, firmware, and compute. Your work will directly enable machines to perceive and interact with the world with unprecedented accuracy.

What you'll do

• Lead system‑level design, integration, and optimization for advanced depth‑sensing cameras and perception modules
• Drive system engineering activities across optics, electro‑optics, algorithms, firmware, mechanical, and hardware teams
• Evaluate and select system components while balancing performance, power, cost, and reliability
• Conduct system‑level bring‑up, debugging, and root‑cause analysis across sensing, compute, and interface subsystems
• Support calibration strategy development and perform system‑level validation to ensure depth and vision accuracy
• Collaborate with algorithm teams on depth reconstruction, 3D perception, and system‑level performance optimization
• Perform hands‑on integration of sensing subsystems such as cameras, IMUs, lasers, projectors, and illumination modules
• Lead design reviews, verification activities, and cross‑functional technical alignment
• Work directly with customers to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and support system‑level integration

What we're looking for?

• 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer working on complex hardware or sensing systems
• 3+ years of experience in Hardware, Firmware, or Mechanical Engineering supporting product development
• Experience troubleshooting system‑level issues across hardware, firmware, and algorithmic domains
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts, collaborate across disciplines, and influence design decisions
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with customers, partners, and cross‑functional engineering teams

Nice to have:

• Strong background in optics, electro‑optics, sensor fusion, imaging pipelines, or depth‑related algorithms
• Hands‑on experience integrating sensing subsystems such as cameras, IMUs, lasers, projectors, and active illumination systems
• Solid understanding of high‑speed interfaces (e.g., MIPI, PCIe, Ethernet, DDR) and embedded compute architectures
