A team building an AI tutor that aims to actually teach—not just answer questions. The product focuses on deciding what to teach, in what order, through which approach, and measuring whether the student truly understood, using data systems that capture learning interactions at scale.

Founding Knowledge & Data Architect

We’re looking for a Founding Knowledge & Data Architect to build the foundational data and knowledge systems for an AI tutoring product from the ground up. This is a true “zero-to-one” role: no existing schemas, no data team, no inherited infrastructure—your architecture becomes the backbone of the product.

What you’ll build and own

Knowledge structures / knowledge graph that represents how to teach, not just what to teach—capturing concept dependencies, common student misconceptions, and multiple learning paths across subjects and languages.

End-to-end data infrastructure for knowledge representation, content systems, student interaction capture, and real-time session data—built for large-scale usage.

Instrumentation + experimentation layer to evaluate learning effectiveness: run experiments, compare teaching approaches/models over time, and separate real signal from noise across millions of interactions.

What we’re looking for

Proven experience owning and building/transforming data infrastructure (ideally making key architectural bets and living with the consequences).

Strength in domain modeling where structure isn’t obvious—bonus for messy human domains like education, health, or legal.

A “domain-first” mindset: you can partner closely with pedagogy/learning experts and translate how humans learn into robust data models.
