Software Engineer

An ambitious, early-stage Deep-Tech startup is developing a first-of-its-kind photonic quantum computer. Operating at the absolute frontier of science and engineering, the company combines quantum physics, optics, and high-performance hardware to build a practical quantum computing solution.

Backed by significant Series A funding from top-tier investors, their technology is poised to revolutionize industries ranging from drug discovery and security to climate modeling and global finance.

The company is located in Central Israel (train-accessible) and operates a hybrid work model with remote flexibility.

Role Overview:

• Quantum Stack Development: Designing and developing a multi-layer software stack for the quantum computer's operating system.
• Architectural Leadership: Leading the design and implementation of new software modules, ensuring the scalability and reliability of a complex, first-generation system.
• Hardware-Software Integration: Working in a unique, multidisciplinary environment alongside physicists, hardware engineers, and system architects to bridge the gap between abstract algorithms and quantum hardware.
• High-Performance Engineering: Developing robust, multi-threaded and multi-service backend systems using Python.
• System Ownership: Taking responsibility for the full software lifecycle within a research-intensive environment where software directly controls physical quantum states.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in Python development – Mandatory.
• Deep hands-on experience in developing multi-threaded, concurrent, or multi-service architectures – Mandatory.
• Strong background in Software-Hardware integration or IoT systems – Significant Advantage.
• Familiarity with Frontend/Client-side development – Advantage.
• Ability to solve complex, non-standard engineering problems in a fast-paced R&D setting.
• Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
