The team:

We are a leading developer of highly challenging Image Signal Processing (ISP) algorithms for digital cameras and state-of-the-art imaging and sensing devices. Our customers include worldwide leading mobile and automotive systems suppliers. Our Application group leads product assimilation and verification for these critical customer applications, building dedicated software tools, creating verification infrastructures, and performing ISP tuning to optimize image quality.

We are seeking a motivated student to help us build and refine the foundation of an intelligent system to automatically tune the parameters of the Image Signal Processing (ISP) chain by using data-driven optimization techniques to refine image quality characteristics.

What will you do?

Data Analysis & Quality Control:

• Explore and analyze large datasets of image quality metrics gathered from various ISP configurations.
• Identify patterns, anomalies, and potential errors in the data (e.g., mislabeled samples, inconsistent measurements).
• Develop and implement data cleaning and validation procedures to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Contribute to data mining efforts to understand the characteristics of high-quality images and identify key factors influencing image perception.

Data Pipeline Contribution:

• Assist in improving the data generation pipeline – potentially involving scripting for automated testing and data extraction.
• Explore opportunities to expand our data collection strategy and improve data diversity.

Collaboration:

Work closely with our team of algorithm and software developers to translate data insights into improvements in our data collection and labeling processes and ultimately the ISP tuning system.
