Role Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support and lead our products throughout their entire lifecycle - from early development stages through stable serial production. The role includes providing technical leadership in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), supporting development prototypes, conducting First Article Inspections (FAI), and leading the transition-to-production process.

The position involves continuous improvement and optimization of manufacturing and assembly processes, serving as a technical interface with mechanical manufacturers and suppliers, and defining mechanical requirements for test equipment, jigs, and assembly fixtures.

The engineer will also be responsible for conducting failure investigations from development through serial production, and for full ownership of mechanical documentation, including assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and the release of part drawings for production.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in designing and analyzing mechanical systems, including knowledge of 3D modeling and CAD software.
• Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, and applied mechanics.
• Skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting technical issues effectively.
• Experience in project management, working within deadlines, and collaborating with teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Relevant engineering certifications or qualifications are an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing company – mandatory
• Proven experience in NPI and DFMA processes – mandatory
• Experience in defense manufacturing companies – an advantage
• Experience with unmanned systems (UAS / UAV / Robotics) – a significant advantage
• Strong ability to work independently, process-oriented thinking, and excellent interpersonal communication skills
