Mechanical Engineer

We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer – Manufacturing Engineering for a leading defense company located in central Israel.

This is a key role within the Mechanical Manufacturing & Structures department, combining hands-on engineering design with process leadership and production support in a highly regulated, multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Design of production tooling, fixtures, molds, lifting and handling devices, measurement and assembly tools across multiple domains (machining, composites, integration, etc.)
• Development and documentation of manufacturing process plans for parts and mechanical assemblies
• Implementation of engineering changes and improvements to existing tooling
• Close collaboration with subcontractors and suppliers
• Ongoing engineering support to production teams, including troubleshooting manufacturing and process issues
• Definition and specification writing for tooling and fixture design
• Transfer from Development to Production (NPI), including design-for-manufacturing evaluation
• Definition and planning of manufacturing, assembly, inspection and infrastructure processes, including production layout planning
• Process optimization and continuous improvement of manufacturing and assembly operations
• Writing and updating manufacturing work instructions and process documentation using CAD tools
• Leading technical discussions and presenting engineering reviews to internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting first article and serial production, including shop-floor guidance and employee training
• Providing engineering support to internal production departments and subcontractors

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering / NPI with hands-on leadership of mechanical manufacturing and assembly processes
• Strong knowledge of metal processing technologies (milling, turning, bending, etc.)
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models – Mandatory
• SolidWorks – Mandatory
• NX – Advantage
• Good English proficiency
