Head of Retail Credit

A leading financial organization is seeking a Head of Retail Credit to lead retail credit activities, including consumer lending and small business credit within the retail division.

This is a senior leadership role combining strategy, business development, risk management, and operational execution, with responsibility for driving growth while maintaining strong risk governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the retail credit department, covering consumer and small business lending
• Define and implement retail credit strategy aligned with organizational goals
• Own retail credit policy and drive initiatives to expand credit activity
• Oversee underwriting models development and ongoing optimization
• Develop monitoring and control tools to balance growth and risk appetite
• Initiate business partnerships and enhance sales channels, including vehicle financing
• Build processes, procedures, and training frameworks across branches and contact centers
• Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
• Lead teams and cross-functional collaboration across the organization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Economics / Business – mandatory (Master’s degree – advantage)
• At least 5 years of proven experience in retail credit management, including:

Branch management experience

Analytical / credit analysis background

Headquarters or credit policy role

• Experience in business development and partnerships
• Strong familiarity with BI systems and Excel
• Deep understanding of the retail credit market, including auto financing
• Experience working with senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking with decision-making capabilities
• Proven leadership and team management experience
