Position Summary

The R&D System Engineer is responsible for the technical integrity and multidisciplinary integration of advanced defense systems. This role focuses on the methodical definition, design, and validation of complex hardware-centric systems, ensuring that electronics, cabling, and mechanical modules interface seamlessly. The System Engineer manages from the system level down to specific modules and ensuring a rigorous approach to problem-solving throughout the product lifecycle. This position reports directly to the R&D Manager.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system requirements, architecture, and design.
• Define and document critical interfaces (ICDs) between disciplines (HW, SW, FW, Mechanics) and modules
• Lead system integration and test activities internally and with third-party strategic partners
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex system-level issues
• Provide technical oversight for electronics design, including the selection of connectors, cable harness architecture, and power distribution strategies
• Prepare and lead system-level design reviews, ensuring that module designs align with the overall system architecture and performance goals
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, software, hardware, and test.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members and lead projects with strategic partners.
  
  

• 7+ years of engineering experience in an multidisciplinary R&D environment, with at least 3 years focused on Systems Engineering.
• Strong understanding of system engineering principles and methodologies.
• Proven experience in "hands-on" work within a multidisciplinary environment, including hardware troubleshooting, cable/connector design oversight, and system-level debugging.
• Experience in system development lead, including design reviews, documentation, test planning and reports.
• Experience with requirements management and configuration management tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if required).
  
  

• Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field.
• Experience with specific defense system domains
• Certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE).
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with Aerial advanced defense systems
