The Dream Job:

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the design of how analysts, investigators, and decision-makers interact with complex AI systems in high-stakes, data-dense environments. You’ll be the first designer in the Sovereign AI division - which means you’ll defining standards, update or rebuild the design system, and becoming the team’s authority on how users experience our products.

Over time, you’ll develop deep domain expertise in the investigative and analytical workflows our systems support - and that expertise will make you a critical voice in product and technical decisions. You’ll work at the intersection of complex data, AI, and national missions - where every design decision carries real weight. We need someone who takes full ownership, moves with urgency, and proactivly.

The Dream-Maker Responsibilities:

• Own the design direction - Lead the design vision for the division’s products. You’re not executing someone else’s spec - you’re shaping what these products look and feel like from the ground up.
• Become the domain expert - Develop deep fluency in the investigative, analytical, and decision-support workflows our users rely on. Bring that understanding into every design decision and be the voice of the user in product discussions.
• Design for high-stakes environments - Create intuitive, user-centered experiences for mission-critical, AI-driven analytical systems where explainability, auditability, and trust are non-negotiable.
• Translate complexity into clarity - Turn complex investigative and analytical workflows into clear, structured product experiences that expert users can rely on.
• Build the design foundation - Establish and evolve the design system and design standards for the entire Sovereign AI division. Set the bar for quality and consistency as the team grows.
• Collaborate across disciplines - Work closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
• Drive the full lifecycle - From concept and prototyping through execution and postdeployment iteration - you own it end-to-end and push for continuous improvement.
• Communicate with impact - Present design rationale and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  
  

• 5+ years of experience - designing complex digital products end-to-end, with a strong portfolio demonstrating UX depth, system thinking, and high-quality UI execution.
• Ownership and high agency - You don’t wait for a brief. You see what needs to happen and ou drive it forward. You’re comfortable operating with ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete information, and taking responsibility for outcomes.
• Design craft - Proficiency in Figma and a strong understanding of modern interaction and information-architecture principles. Experience working with design systems and scalable component libraries.
• Strong communication - You collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and can articulate design decisions with clarity and conviction. You know how to influence product direction, not just respond to it.
• Genuine interest in AI - You’re drawn to AI-powered systems, decision-support tools, and the challenge of complex human-machine interaction
