Head of Technology & R&D | Deep Tech & Computer Vision

The Opportunity

We are looking for a visionary VP R&D to lead a world-class engineering and research organization. This is a rare opportunity to own a frontier Deep Tech platform that operates at the intersection of high-scale data systems and real-time AI perception.

Our technology is already deployed at a national scale, providing mission-critical solutions in complex, real-world environments. As a key executive, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and hardened, production-grade engineering.

The Role

In this "Hands-on Executive" position, you will think like a CTO, build like a founder, and execute like a world-class engineering leader. You will be responsible for:

• Full-Stack R&D Leadership: Leading multi-disciplinary teams across AI Research, Backend, Frontend, and DevOps/Infrastructure.
• Technical Vision: Architecting the long-term roadmap for a multi-modal perception platform spanning Cloud, Edge, and Embedded systems.
• From Research to Reality: Scaling advanced Deep Learning models into robust, 24/7 systems that maintain peak performance under massive loads.
• Responsible AI: Leading the strategy for ethical, lawful, and standards-compliant AI deployment on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

Technology & Architecture at Scale

• Own the end-to-end system architecture: from perception engines and data pipelines to chipset-accelerated edge deployments.
• Drive innovation and expand the company’s proprietary IP portfolio.
• Ensure the platform remains at the forefront of global benchmarks, outperforming both academic state-of-the-art and industry competitors.
• Guarantee reliability, latency, and throughput for mission-critical, high-availability deployments.

AI & Research Excellence

• Set the research strategy for Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Biometric Perception.
• Oversee the entire model lifecycle: data strategy, training platforms, evaluation, and deployment pipelines.
• Push the boundaries of Physical AI and next-generation multi-modal identity technologies.

Leadership & Culture

• Mentor and grow a high-performance team of researchers and engineers.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, extreme ownership, and startup velocity.
• Attract and retain top-tier talent in the fields of AI and infrastructure.

Who You Are

• A Deep Technologist: You have a profound understanding of both the research and the software engineering worlds.
• A Proven Leader: You have 12+ years of experience in software/AI and 7+ years leading multi-disciplinary R&D organizations.
• Domain Expert: You possess a deep background in Computer Vision and Deep Learning.
• Systems Thinker: Experienced in shipping real-time, mission-critical systems across Cloud, On-prem, and Edge (GPU/Distributed systems).
• Mission-Driven: You care about accuracy, robustness, and the real-world impact of technology on society.
